BIO

Mary Finn is a professional artist whose atmospheric work is inspired by the culture of rural Ireland where she was born and raised and lives on a farm and as part of a vibrant community.  Her great interest in music, drama, farm and Country life provides her inspiration. 

The final contemporary works are a result of sketches, photographs and memory.

 ​​Mary is a regular resident at The Tyrone Guthrie Centre Annaghmakerrig, (funded by the Arts Council). The Centre invites artists, designers and writers with a proven record of achievement from all over the world.  Here they are provided with an opportunity for the promotion of excellence and innovation by meeting like minded people in an environment with ideal workspaces and opportunities.

Mary has an honours degree in Visual Art. She keeps her practice fresh by attending the Slade Summer School at University College London where she has studied the expanded field of drawing, contemporary painting, contemporary portraiture and colour relationships. Painting and drawing since chlldhood she studied Art as a mature student. Mary also has a degree in Business among other qualifications and worked for Tipperary ETB in Adult Education for nine years managing projects which used art and computers as a tool to facilitate literacy in communities.

She has had many exhibitions in Ireland and the UK.
